Beelink GTR9 Pro review
Our verdict
Beelink GTR9 Pro is a premium Strix Halo alternative with substantial memory and networking. Our preferred general workstation is Geekom A9 Mega; GTR9 Pro is most compelling when its specific configuration and network hardware justify the total price.
How we assessed it
This researched assessment uses published specifications. It does not claim a first-hand laboratory test; the Testbench score is an editorial rating, not a measurement.
Running large local models on the GTR9 Pro
GTR9 Pro combines the Max+ 395 platform with high-capacity shared memory. Choose a supported runtime and inspect allocation before loading a large model. A capacity specification establishes room, not the output rate of a particular quantised model.
Dual 10GbE and networking
Fast Ethernet matters when the rest of the network can use it. A 10GbE port connected to a slower switch cannot deliver its headline link rate. Check the actual board revision, controller, drivers and retailer specification rather than assuming every unit is identical.
Vapor-chamber cooling and noise
The cooling design is intended to manage sustained loads in a compact case. The component name alone cannot determine sound level or fan character. For a desk workstation, evaluate load behaviour; for a server, also consider its location and the ventilation around it.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Beelink GTR9 Pro worth it?
It can be for a buyer who needs its particular configuration and networking. Our general preference remains Geekom A9 Mega.
Beelink GTR9 Pro vs GMKtec EVO-X2: which is quieter?
A fair answer needs the same workload, power mode, measurement distance and noise floor. Cooling specifications alone do not settle it.
