HiDock P1 review

Our verdict

HiDock P1 is worth considering if earphone-call capture is central to your workflow. Notta Memo remains our preferred general recorder, but HiDock’s included core transcription is a relevant alternative for frequent users.

How we assessed it

This researched assessment uses published specifications. It does not claim a first-hand laboratory test; the Testbench score is an editorial rating, not a measurement.

What makes HiDock P1 different (Bluetooth earphone capture)

HiDock P1’s distinctive use case is recording supported earphone conversations alongside in-person speech. That is a different workflow from attaching a card recorder to a phone. Check the pairing procedure and compatibility with the specific headset you use.

Recording calls

Set up P1 and the earphones before relying on them for an important call. A short recording should confirm that both sides can be heard. Bluetooth compatibility is not a universal guarantee that every calling app and headset combination behaves the same way.

Transcription

HiNotes processes recordings into text and meeting notes. Check speaker assignment and replay the passage when a name, amount or commitment matters. A good transcript remains useful when it is easy to export or compare with the original sound.

Subscription

HiDock advertises an included Member plan with unlimited core transcription and summaries. Paid plans add capabilities beyond that core. If ongoing cost is your main concern, compare the exact included features with Notta’s allowance rather than assuming a recorder must have a subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Does HiDock P1 need a subscription?

The included HiNotes Member plan provides core transcription and summaries without a separate recurring subscription. Additional features can require a paid plan.
