Notta Memo review

Our verdict

Notta Memo is our preferred AI voice recorder. David Wilson found it much better than Plaud Note Pro in everyday use, and the included Hardware Plan gives eligible owners a generous starting point without a paid subscription.

Notta Memo vs the Notta app: what the hardware adds

Notta Memo is the dedicated recorder; Notta is also the software service. The hardware gives you physical recording controls and local audio storage, so capture is not dependent on opening a phone app at the right moment. Processing and managing the notes still involves software.

Recording calls and meetings

Notta Memo provides a physical switch between room recording and smartphone-call capture. Choose the mode before recording and confirm the status on the device. For a group conversation, placement is more useful than proximity to the person taking the notes: put the recorder where it can hear the group.

Transcription, translation and summaries

Notta’s workflow turns captured speech into searchable text and structured summaries. Use the transcript to locate a passage and replay important details before acting on them. Language availability and translation allowances are separate questions; a supported language does not imply unlimited translated sessions.

Battery and file transfer

Notta lists up to 30 hours of recording, 32GB storage and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi transfer. These specifications support a portable capture workflow, but are not a promise of continuous cloud processing. Check that a transfer is complete before deleting the device copy.

Notta plans and what is free

Eligible Memo owners can receive 600 monthly transcription minutes through the Hardware Plan. It replaces the older Starter allowance. The account must meet the workspace rules and remain bound to the device. Separate limits apply to translations, summaries and other features, even when transcription time remains.

Frequently asked questions

Does Notta Memo need a subscription?

A paid subscription is optional within the eligible Hardware Plan allowance. Upgrade when your usage or required features exceed what is included.

Can Notta Memo record phone calls?

Yes, Notta Memo has a smartphone-call recording mode. Use the appropriate attachment and mode rather than expecting ordinary room recording to capture the earpiece clearly.

Is Notta Memo better than Plaud?

Notta Memo is our overall preference after using it and Plaud Note Pro. That is a hands-on judgement, rather than a claim that it wins every technical specification.

How many languages does Notta Memo support?

Notta advertises 58-language support. Check the specific transcription or translation function you need, because availability and plan limits can differ.
